Frequently Asked Questions
What is SMTS?
Send Me to Serve is a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign that is an opportunity for you, the incoming class of new JVs, to share your enthusiasm for the next step in your journey with your friends and family and let them be a part of that journey by making a donation to JVC.
Using the Just Giving platform, you can create your own fundraising page, link to your JVC House Team and share that link with friends and family. It is an easy and fun way to track your friends' contributions and to see the gifts build towards the goal.
Why do we have to fundraise?
The cost to support each JV averages $24,977 per program year. Agencies pay a fee to employ each JV. This fee covers 70% of expenses. JVC fundraises to cover the gap – an average of $35,279 per community.
Where does the money go?
The money raised covers the gap between expenses and earned revenue. Our fundraising covers administrative expenses, travel, JV health insurance, your five annual retreats, formation, and Justice, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity training.
DevComms works with other JVC departments to develop and implement a broad communications strategy to achieve the agency goals of building an inclusive JVC community embracing of all our constituents, past, present and future.
What is the goal?
DevComms implements a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy that encompasses annual giving, foundation support, major and planned gifts, Jesuit community support and relationship building virtual and in person networking opportunities. DevComms maintains strong brand identity in order to grow brand recognition with donors, recruits, and new organizational partners.
Our goal for this year is to raise $1,500,000.
